Build A Boat. Build A Team. Build A Connection.

What do you get when you combine cardboard, unbridled enthusiasm, and two hundred corporate team members from a global service center, a national group with members all over Mexico and other parts of Latin America? You get an event that starts as a sales conference and ends as a corporate team building triumph. When teams work so far apart on a daily basis, a company retreat that brings them all together is an investment your corporation can’t afford not to make.

Team building has become a popular buzz phrase all over the world, but at Grupo Events, it’s so much more. It’s an opportunity to build stellar, functional, effective teams during your corporate retreat or event. We take team building seriously because the very core of what we do is build great teams.

One of our most popular team challenges teaches corporate teams to turn ordinary cardboard into working boats. During the Cardboard Boat Building team challenge, corporate team members from this mobile communications company learned how to work together to successfully navigate corporate challenges like last minute project modifications, unexpected staff changes, and project-threatening material shortages.

Their group was broken down into smaller teams to select and negotiate for the materials they needed to build their boats. Each cardboard box boat was evaluated for presentation, design, marketing, and functionality – the same criteria that follows a successful corporate presentation. Once the boat was finished, each team put one member inside to compete in the on-water navigational challenge.

Leaders weren’t assigned or appointed during the boat build. Instead, they emerged organically from within the group itself. Sound familiar? The beautiful Barcelo Puerto Vallarta hosted this event just as they’ve hosted many events for us on their gorgeous beachfront property.

Want to really motivate your team to strive for success? Tell them they have to build a workable boat out of cardboard – and put one of their corporate team members inside to row it. Contact us today and start creating the successful, cooperative team your company needs to row their way toward success.
