Six Senses, Countless Smiles: Wheelchair Build in Los Cabos
On February 22, 2025, Inland Truck & Equipment met at The Spot inside Solaz Los Cabos for a morning of teamwork and community service. The group of 110 participants took part in theSix Senses Wheelchair Build for Charity, an activity that combined problem-solving with a meaningful outcome.
Colleagues and their partners worked side by side to build wheelchairs for local recipients. What began as a team exercise ended with a direct impact on families in Los Cabos.
A Tradition of Togetherness
For more than 60 years, Inland Truck & Equipment has organized a biennial trip for employees and their partners. The tradition brings together staff from across Western Canada, the Yukon, and parts of the United States.
The 2025 trip drew a wide mix of participants, from senior executives and regional managers to IT, marketing, and dealership leaders. It was a group that reflected the full scope of the company, gathered not for competition but for connection.
The Six Senses Challenge
Participants divided into teams. Each team faced a series of sensory challenges that tested sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell. Completing these tasks earned them the parts needed to assemble a wheelchair. The activities were designed to be inclusive.
Colleagues worked side by side, solving problems and supporting each other. The atmosphere was focused but light, with plenty of laughter as teams moved from one challenge to the next. By the end, every team had gathered the pieces and built a working wheelchair, ready to be donated to a worthy cause in the Baja California area.
Team work makes the dream work!
A Powerful Finale
When the wheelchairs were complete, representatives from the Los Cabos Children’s Foundation arrived to meet the group. The handover was a touching moment as the team-building participants saw the immediate result of their efforts, and the recipients left with new mobility support.
The moment closed the loop between teamwork and impact. What began as a morning of problem-solving ended with a direct benefit for the local community.
